GLFC Announces Acquisition Of Grand Rapids Wanderers

Grand Rapids, MI - JosVon Holdings to acquire the Grand Rapids Wanderers Fútbol Club to form a new pro-am arena soccer club, Great Lakes Fútbol Club. 

After four successful seasons in the Premier Arena Soccer League and one season in the Major Arena Soccer League third tier (MASL3), the Grand Rapids Wanderers FC will be absorbed into a new brand under the management of JosVon Holdings. The new club will play as the Great Lakes Fútbol Club. 

As a part of the acquisition the Grand Rapids Wanderers club president, Pedro Sanchez will be retained to serve as club president of Great Lakes FC to oversee the Men's, Women's & Youth Academy operations with the backing of JosVon Holdings and support of Joe Brefczynski as Vice President and Sporting Director.

Newly named club president Pedro Sanchez had this to say; “I’m excited for what is happening in arena soccer here locally and nationally. Together under the direction of JosVon Holdings, we have some pretty big goals. Goals that are within reach and would put our local players on the map nationally”. 

Devon Joslin, managing partner of JosVon Holdings, shared his excitement for this new venture; "I am eager to continue with the growth strategy we began in 2022 within professional and amateur minifutbol”. He continued, "I am confident that Pedro and Joe's staff will design a program that serves the needs of players, delivers quality sports action to its fans, and creates high value for its community partners. Great things are coming." 

Great Lakes Fútbol Club's, Brefczynski, began a Youth Academy program in 2018 under the name Great Lakes Football Club. Under his guidance, GLFC YA had podium finishes in 19 of 26 events they competed in and sent 7 female youth players on to college soccer programs. 

Beginning in the Winter ‘23-’24 arena soccer season, GLFC Men's & Women's will compete in the Premier Arena Soccer League Premier (PASL). The PASL Premier will be a new division of the PASL that will follow professional standards, playing a 12-game schedule.
