GLFC Names Boogaart, Club Technical Director & Mens Head Coach

Great LAkes Fútbol club names Mike Boogaart as the CLUB'S first technical director & men's pro arena head coach. 

GRAND RAPIDS, MI - We're excited to announce our first hiring to our professional coaching staff. Mike Boogaart will serve as our club technical director, overseeing the entirety of our coaching staff, and will lead our Men's Pro team for the 2023-2024 arena season. 

Mike joins GLFC with a lot of familiarity with arena soccer in West Michigan. Mike served as a head coach since 2017 for the Grand Rapids Wanderers which was acquired by Great Lakes FC in June 2023. During his time with GRW he served as both Men's and Women's Head Coach. 

"I am excited to be joining Great Lakes Fútbol Club and I am focused on making this a successful season for the club. Grand Rapids is full of talent and has a great balance of young and experienced Players. All my efforts will be on helping these players fulfill their potential as players & as a team.  Arena soccer is a fast-paced game and has a lot of scoring opportunities. I am excited to be a part of this organization bringing exciting arena soccer to West Michigan and have a great place for fans to enjoy the game"

"When we began looking around for the best and most experienced staff, Mike was a name we could not ignore. He's been dedicating a lot of his time to arena soccer since 2017. Having worked with him in the past I know this will be an easy transition. Mike is already working on filling his staff out, signing players and getting ready for tryouts."
