GLFC Names Juan Zavala, Womens Head Coach
GREAT LAKES FÚTBOL CLUB NAMES Juan Zavala AS THE CLUB'S FIRST woMEN'S PRO ARENA HEAD COACH.
GRAND RAPIDS, MI - We're excited to announce our first-ever Women's head coach, Juan Zavala. If you're a part of the Grand Rapids soccer scene, you know the last name. This family has had much success with the game of soccer. More recently, Juan has been committed to the Boys & Girls soccer program at Union High School as well he's led a GR hub for the Great Lakes Youth Academy.
"I’m extremely grateful for the opportunity to prove myself as a coach at the next level and I’m committed to not only learning the arena game but also becoming one of the hubs of the sport for professional players and the national team" - Great Lakes Women's Coach, Juan Zavala
Club President, Pedro Sanchez also commented:
"This is an exciting addition to the club for many reasons. Juan has had a good track record as a coach and has seen great success within his family. It was an easy decision to make for us as he's served in the youth academy for the last two years. His passion for the game, players and coaching are the reason we feel he's the best person to lead this group".
